With a mission to end homelessness, the Central Florida branch of the Coalition for the Homeless provides services for men, women and families. In Orlando, families can find support during times of crisis at two area locations. The Center for Women and Families (CWF) offers accommodations for just about every family scenario including intact families and single fathers with children. The Women’s Residential and Counseling Center provides a transitional living program for single women with and without children.
In addition to community housing, support is provided through counseling, education and job training skills. For children, daycare, after school care and summer programs are available.
Each year the Coalition offers a Journey Home Breakfast at the Rosen Centere Hotel featuring stories from clients and information about how their services transform the lives of homeless men, women and children in Central Florida. On the second Tuesday of every month the community is invited to a light lunch and informational tour of the main campus.
The organization has many large corporate partners and sponsors that share the mission to end homelessness by providing financial support.
The Coalition for the Homelessness accepts individual monetary donations and has an Immediate Needs List of everyday items to help those at the centers. Volunteer opportunities are also available both long-range and for individual projects.
