Florida Homestead Exemption

The start of the year is always a hectic time, but if you bought a home last year, one of the most important items to follow up on is to file for your Florida Homestead Exemption.

Florida currently offers up to a $50,000 exemption for residents who own and occupy their homes prior to January 1, 2017.

So if you bought your home in 2016, you need to file prior to March 1, 2017 to receive the benefit.
